At
Bargainlinks we prefer the price of PC computers that come directly from
the manufacturer. This way a consumer can cut out the middleman and put
the savings in their own pocket.
Bargainlinks
has some recommendations for PC computer systems. We recommend the following
for minimum requirements on a new PC purchase.
- Buy
a computer with a processor speed of 1200 MHz or faster.
- Make
sure the computer that you are buying has a MINIMUM of 256 megabytes of RAM (512 megabytes or higher is better for anyone who wants to do more that send emails and surf the net).
- A
80 gigabyte hard-drive should give you plenty of storage space. If you are working with media files, like video or many MP3 files, go for a bigger hard drive.
- The
standard for monitor size is now 17". Get a 19" monitor if you can afford it. The 19" should run $100 more or so.
- Get
a 16x or faster double layer CD/DVD burner
- A
64MB video card should drive your new 17" monitor nicely.
- Network card and
56k modem should also be a standard on your new computer.
- 64k
sound cards should give you all the amazing sound you will need
- USB2 and media card
ports are very nice for connecting things like disk drives, scanners, and media cards.
